  The lessons that I have been taking from Jon were structured for my individual goal of playing the guitar.   I’ve been taking lessons from Jon for three years. He’s an excellent instructor and breaks down seemingly difficult parts of songs into bite size formats that are simple to understand and easy to learn. Jon is very patient and meets the player where they are and works on what they want to work on. Don’t want to lea n scales? No problem. Jon doesn’t force you to and will help you learn basic songs that don’t require them. Want to learn a complicated riff for a song that he isn’t familiar with? No problem. He will work with you to help you learn it and figure it out. He is very good at showing you how to practice new skills and techniques and instead of just drilling techniques, he will pick songs that incorporate certain techniques that you are trying to learn so you can work them into actual songs. When I was first learning to play, I would take Jon songs to that I wanted to learn and he’d teach me about chords and techniques to be able to play the song. Now I can pull the song tabs off the web and strum most of them without assistance, but take them to Jon to help me learn how to jazz them up with new techniques, riffs, bass lines, etc.

  Jon has been teaching guitar lessons to my girlfriend for one year and my 8-year old daughter for about 6 months. Both my girlfriend and daughter had no previous experience playing the guitar. Their progress has been amazing. My girlfriend can now play multiple songs including the Beatle’s Blackbird, Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love, and Little Feet’s Willing. My daughter is also making great strides in her guitar skills despite being very young.   Jon’s lessons are easy to follow and will have you playing songs in no time. The lessons start with basic fundamentals of guitar, then you will learn the most common chords, alternate picking and strumming techniques. You can go at your own pace but skill progression and speed is dependent upon practice, practice and practice. Anyone can do this! I didn’t believe it at first but if you put in at least one hour a day your skills will advance according. I recommend you do this for yourself, it will be fun and worth it.
